April 2014

On March 27th at 7:06AM we welcomed Cordelia into the world and our family. This first month has been filled with joy, excitement, exhaustion, and lots of learning. During this period of transition into parenthood, we were blessed to be surrounded by supportive family. Grandpa and Grandma Powers spent a whole month visiting with us. The first two weeks, helping us prepare before Corrie came and then helping us cope and sleep some during the first two weeks once Corrie came. Then Grandpa and Grandma Russin (Papa and Mimi) visited for a week. They enjoyed time with Cordelia and also did some great yard work in our front and side yards. They watched Corrie for us so we could go on a nice 3rd anniversary dinner. Aunt Kelly also visited over her spring break.

Cordelia has changed so much just in one month. She now weighs over 9 lbs and has even outgrown a few newborn outfits! She is very strong and can lift her head for several consecutive seconds while in tummy time. We are very blessed to have a healthy daughter.

We are still adjusting to parenthood – each day is unique with some more challenging than others. We praise God for blessing us with this gift. We also pray that we will be wise in raising this girl and the patience to handle the difficult moments. We want to be a good example of Chirst-living to our daughter.
