This month has continued to be full of excitement and activity. Cordelia celebrated her first 4th of July! She participated in the Powers family traditional game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, but didn’t do any of the other games. Grandma and Grandpa watched her while Tim and Alicia went out to the fireworks. We flew back to San Jose and Cordelia did pretty well considering we had a 2 hour delay. Back at home we welcomed Aunt Hannah for the week and had a fun time going to the Winchester Mystery House. Alicia and Cordelia have been enjoying the weekly park play dates with church friends.
Cordelia continues to have excellent development. She now can roll onto her stomach with ease and does so on a frequent basis during play time. She also is having more interaction with her toys, intentionally grabbing them and putting everything in her mouth. She also is sleeping unswaddled and sleeps through the night from 8PM to 7AM. She weighed in at 13lb 13oz at her 4 month check up with the doctor. She is also growing upwards, currently around 25in tall. She is starting to think about scooting and crawling. We are also working on getting her to sit up by herself.
Tim’s work continues to go very well. His team is achieving some very big milestones for the product and Tim has been doing a lot of testing. He is in charge of overseeing the assembly of the proto-type machines, which involves a fair amount of clean room time.
Alicia officially resigned from her job at Cymer last month, but she continues to stay active and busy. She enjoyed visiting with lots of family and friends while in San Diego as well as visiting with Hannah back in San Jose. With the home construction of the bathrooms Alicia has stayed busy keeping updated on the contractor’s progress and answering questions. When not occupied with these activities she has been watching MIT open course ware classes while playing with Cordelia.
To complete the month, Alicia and Cordelia prepared to travel back down to San Diego to escape the house construction during the ceiling popcorn removal process. We are blessed to have relatives who are willing to let us visit at any moment with little notice. Please pray that the house construction goes well and quickly so that we can return to a normal house soon. Also pray that Alicia and Cordelia have a fun time in San Diego and safe travels as they drive back to San Jose at the beginning of August. We are looking forward to hosting Tim’s sister Abbe and family. We will also be going to the mountains, Bishop, in mid-August so pray for safe travels and an easy drive with Cordelia.
