Lots of events this past month. Tim and Alicia made it back from their 4th anniversary trip, to Hawaii. Cordelia enjoyed a fun week with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Kelly. Alicia celebrated her 2nd Mother’s day and Tim celebrated his 34th birthday. We ended the month with a trip to (Tim’s brother) Danny’s house in Tucson.
Unfortunately we also experienced the loss of Alicia’s Grandpa Devine who passed away on May 2nd. Alicia was able to attend the memorial service. We are grateful for God’s peace knowing that he believes in Jesus and is with God now.
Corrie has started talking this month. She says “Dada” every evening when Tim comes home from work. She also says “Do” for dog and “Foo” for food. She is overall a happy girl who is developing nicely. We have managed to give her whole vegetables most nights although sometimes she does protest. We have also been practicing having her use a spoon, which gets messy. Cordelia can walk pretty fast now and enjoys being around other kids. We are also working on discipline and making sure she listens to us too.
As the summer approaches Alicia’s “Mommy groups” are coming to a close. Alicia has been very grateful for the groups and the chance to connect with other moms. Since Cordelia is older and easier to manage Alicia is looking forward to staying connected with some of the moms by going on regular play dates over the summer.
Tim continues to excel at work. He has been put on a new task this month and is successfully getting it accomplished. His co-workers and boss have a high regard for his work and ability to get things done. This was evident when he returned to work after vacation to find a lot of people waiting for his help and input. Tim has also enjoyed being involved in a morning men’s breakfast book study. He has made connections with a few of the guys and has enjoyed the camaraderie and discussions.
Due to all the travels and activities this month there have been no major house projects. We did manage to re-organize the garage, which looks much tidier now. In the coming months we are thinking about expanding the closet space of one of the bedrooms by pushing out into the rafter/roof section.
We appreciate your prayers and support. Please be praying for Alicia to stay involved over the summer and not feel isolated alone with Corrie. Pray that Tim continues to do well at work as his yearly review is coming up. Pray that Tim and Alicia will be able to connect with some more couples in similar life stage and also find a regular sitter for Cordelia.
