September 2015

Big news this month: Tim got a new job up in Napa that he started on Sept 21. So we have moved out of San Jose and now live in south Napa county in a town called American Canyon. The whole thing was very quick. He had the onsite interview on Sept 1 and less than a month later Tim had the offer and here we are in Napa.

SO, things never really went back to quotnormalquot this month. Instead we have had a whole whirlwind of activity. Starting with Labor Day weekend we went out to Carson City, NV for a Jack Russell dog show and stopped through Tahoe on our way back. Then Alicia and Cordelia went down to San Diego for a week visit. When they got back it was straight to moving! We are renting now and still have our house in San Jose. We are in the process of renting that out so please pray that we choose wisely!

In the midst of all that we have been feeling kind of stretched out with too many things to keep track of between unpacking and cleaning up our place in San Jose. But we are very happy with the transition and are glad to be in a new area. The house we are renting is significantly larger and newer than our home with the added bonus of a park one block away.

Tim is just getting the feel for his new job. It’s a smallish company with only about 50 employees. It took him a week and 2 days to finally get his official computer, so he is still coming up to speed and trying to get a feel for their technology.

Alicia has been unpacking, watching Corrie, working on renting out our house, and trying to get connected in new moms’ groups up here … there’s a lot to keep track of. Pregnancy is going smoothly. We found out in the beginning of September that it’s a boy! Alicia went to one MOPS meeting in September in Napa but they only meet once a month, so she is looking for other groups too. There is one that seems to have more regular meetings that is located out in Fairfield, hopefully that group works out too. Due to the move Alicia is no longer helping out with the mom’s group in San Jose. She is praying to make quick connections in our new area.

Through this new transition Cordelia has been very well behaved. Our new house is not fully toddler proofed yet so there is a lot of things for her to get into. Cordelia has lots of fun going to the park. We transferred her straight into a twin bed when we moved and she has handled it like a super star. She hasn’t climbed out or run around the room screaming. Sometimes she whimpers when we first leave but even that is decreasing. She is really amazing, especially since we spent some time back in San Jose where she was in her original crib. When we came back and put her in the twin bed she had no regression issues.

We are thankful for your support during the big transition time. Please pray that the renting of our San Jose house goes smoothly. Pray that we get settled quickly in our new area and meet lots of people to connect with.
