Happy New Year to everyone, 2016 is upon us. We are looking forward to an exciting year with our new addition arriving end of January. We finished off 2015 with a trip to Carlsbad, going to LEGOLAND for Cordelia’s first fireworks show. She had a great time watching the fireworks, clapped and said quotpretty.quot
Cordelia is continuing to make lots of developments. She seems to be expanding her vocabulary daily and has so many words now. It is really nice that she can communicate better with us. She continues to have a great time with the nanny, Julie. It is really nice having Julie around, she does so many things that we hadn’t even thought of, like teaching Corrie quotABCsquot and numbers quot1-20quot. They sing songs and go to play groups together and have lots of fun. One of Cordelia’s newest things is jumping. She likes to jump and spin.
Alicia is getting a better feel for her new work. She has been doing the part time job for a month and half and is starting to do some testing and get test results. She enjoys getting out of the house and having the mental stimulation. Alicia still stays involved in the local moms’ group that has playdates weekly in the afternoons. The balance between job and house life seems to be settling to a good ratio. The pregnancy continues to go well. Baby looks healthy and everything seems to be going as planned. Alicia is starting to feel the weight and bigness, but that is to be expected.
Tim is gaining more knowledge about his job and successfully completed his first deliverable. He is starting to mentor some of the junior engineers. Overall he thinks the job transition has been the right move. Since we are renting Tim has been able to enjoy more family time in the evenings and weekends. He is making a stool for Cordelia in preparation for potty training. He will also be making a changing table rail for the baby’s dresser.
We enjoyed hosting our friends, Paul and Aundrea, from San Jose for a weekend. It was really great to have friends over to talk with and encourage one another. It was also nice to have a large space that allowed us to comfortably host them. We hope to develop more friendships with people in our new area so we have more opportunities. We are still struggling to find a church and we are really praying that God would lead us to the right place.
We are grateful for God’s provision in 2015. We are thankful for good health and for Cordelia’s development. We are thankful for all support we have received from our family and friends over this year. We know that God will continue to guide us and provide for us in the coming year with all the changes and excitement ahead.
