November 2016

A Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving to all. Anthony turned 10 months on Thanksgiving day and we spent the holiday with Alicia’s family. Alicia and the kids spent 2/3 of November down in Carlsbad. Unfortunately, Tim’s business trip to Singapore got canceled but Alicia had already gone down, so Tim was up in San Jose by himself for two weeks. Down in Carlsbad, Tim and Alicia enjoyed a very fancy dinner out with amazing food and wonderful music.

Cordelia is continuing to show good development. She loves doing puzzles and it is amazing how quickly she is able to figure out new ones and do them all by herself. She is starting to get her emotions more controlled and not have quite as many outbursts. She enjoyed being down in Carlsbad, feeding dogs and fish, as well as trips to LEGOLAND. Unfortunately there was a big heat wave while we were down so we did not do as many outdoor activities.

Anthony went from two steps to full mobility by the end of the month. He also learned to push himself up to a stand without any assistance. He had fun with the dogs too and learned to be gentle. He is still outgoing and talkative. He loves waving his arm (or both arms) frantically and saying quotha ha haquot which is quothiquot. He also is starting to say other words, quotdadaquot, quotmamaquot and others. He enjoys eating solid food and we try to get him to drink milk as much as we can.

Alicia appreciated the hospitality of her parents and enjoyed having some extra help with the kids in the afternoons. Alicia’s mom was working her part time job for the mornings so Alicia found different activities to do with the kids in the morning before nap time. Alicia and the kids also visited with her sister Kelly for three days and had a fun time visiting Kelly’s school and area. Alicia kept up with her online accounting class while she was visiting. Only two more weeks until the class is finished. Alicia has enjoyed taking it; while sometimes monotonous it still is interesting to get some insight into how businesses manage their money related operations.

Tim officially changed managers this month on the paper work side. So now he is reporting to a technical manager rather than the program manager. He has appreciated the change and his new boss is encouraging him to expand his skill set beyond just project work. While the canceled trip to Singapore resulted in unnecessary family separation, it did allow him to have more productivity at work and leave sooner to come down for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving week we had a fun time reuniting, taking a family trip to LEGOLAND and other fun outings.

We are back safely in San Jose, just long enough to get settled before we fly off to Alabama for Russin family wedding, holidays, and cruise.  Pray for health, especially for Anthony who seems to have a cold every third week. Pray for safe travels and a good visit. Happy holidays to you, our family and friends.
