Sorry this post is a few days late!
July was a very eventful month. In the midst of fevers, colds, coughs, and throwups we managed to celebrate 4th of July, celebrate Lydiaโs first birthday, zoo camps with grandparents, and a family trip to Big Bear.
Weโre also having some house renovations done. The downstairs bathroom and front room are getting new flooring and paint. The bathroom is also getting rearranged to get easier entry access.
Cordelia is enjoying her dance class she started this summer. Sheโs also getting good at swimming and able to swim by herself over 15 to 20 feet. She had a tough 4th of July with a fever the whole weekend but she still enjoyed playing with her cousins Sam and Amelia and watching the fireworks. Fortunately Corrie recovered in time for her week with Grandpa and Grandma Powers for zoo camp. Next month Cordelia will be starting Kindergarten at a Christian Montessori. Sheโs getting pretty good at reading. She also really enjoys drawing and her artwork is getting pretty good.
Anthony is doing well with his swimming. He enjoyed his week with grandparents. We are trying to decide on good activities for him when Cordelia goes back to school. Heโs probably going to be starting a gymnastics class one day a week while Corrie is in school.
Lydia turned one year old this month. Sheโs walking and making talking noises. Itโs fun to see her growing and getting more interactive. Sheโs is officially big, weighing 23 lb and two inches taller than her siblings were at 1 yr old. Lydia also started swim class this month. Sheโs not enjoying the water very much yet. Sheโs taking her class at the same place as Cordelia and Anthony, so now we all go as a family for swim class.
Alicia completed some major milestones for two of her projects before our family vacation. It was nice to be able to have closure and leave work at work. As she comes back to work sheโs able to focus on some tasks that had been waiting for her attention. At home it was nice to have more family time over 4th of July with a four day weekend. She also enjoyed the more focused time with the kids while the older ones took turns at Grandparent Powers house.
Tim was able to make some good contributions to his projects this month. He was tasked with some high profile trouble shooting which he was able to complete. Heโs also gotten some lab time out of his office working with lasers. At home heโs doing a great job keeping the yard maintained. The garden is growing well with tomatoes and strawberries.
In August weโre hoping to settle back in to our home and routine. The home renovations are finishing up and we should be getting our office and playroom back soon. Weโre also getting ready for Cordelia to start school, so that will be a change to our routine.
