Despite closures and restrictions we have had a very busy July. We started out celebrating 4th of July with the Powers Clan, visiting Aliciaโs botherโs new house. Then we celebrated Lydiaโs 2nd birthday. And a bonus visit from Aliciaโs cousin. Anthony had his week with Grandparents Powers. Tim also had two work trips. We continue to have help with childcare from Grandparents Powers, Aunt Kelly, and one of the kidโs favorite babysitters.
We also have our master bathroom being remodeled, which is about half way complete after two and half weeks. We have moved to the guest room and are sharing the bathroom with the kids temporarily.
Cordelia has been making friends in her class and is excited to move up to elementary when the new school year starts mid-August. She has a very mothering nature and wants to help out with her siblings. Corrie is entering a new era of playing with dolls and practicing her mothering skills. Sheโs enjoying her gymnastics and swim class. She also continues to work on her piano practice.
Anthony continues adjusting well at school. He enjoyed his week with his grandparents. He gained some confidence in his swimming after his week at the grandparentโs pool. He started back at gymnastics too this month. He had a tough first week getting back but has enjoyed the weeks after.
Lydia is officially 2 yrs, although she denies it. She had a grumpy birthday and if you ask her if sheโs two, she will say โno Iโm sevenโ. Ha! She did have a fun time at her birthday party and was blessed by friends and lots of gifts. She certainly holds her own in the family. She has been getting much better at swimming and has been doing a great job in the pool.
Alicia continues to expand her technical skills. While most of the time she gets to work from home, she has had to go in more often this month than months past. Working from home as been nice, since she gets to see the kids during the day during breaks. Alicia has been coordinating several playdates for the kids during the month. Sheโs also getting to know our neighbor and has enjoyed spending time with them. In August Aliciaโs responsibilities as AWANA sparks director will ramp up.
Timโs work has picked up significantly. He spent a weekend making a box for work and then two weeks out in the field doing testing. Things have been busy, which is good for his work. Weekends have been very busy with activities. Tim began exercising in earnest this month with our neighbor who is a personal trainer. It has been a very physically painful month as he gets adjusted to getting pushed.
With the temperature increasing going out for evening walks has been more difficult. But we have had several pool playdates which has been nice. Family time has felt more scattered with lots of extra activities going on. August will be another month of adjustment as all three kids will be going to the Montessori full time in mid-August.
