In April Tim and Alicia celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a trip to Julian. Grandparents Powers generously watched the kids for four days to give us an opportunity to enjoy some quality time together. Weโve remained fairly busy through April with work, school, and weekend activities.
Cordelia has been working at school on a report this month on a historical figure. Her historical figure is Harriet Tubman. She finished her extra credit book in AWANA. She was presented with a trophy at school for winning the speech contest for first grade.
Anthony switched from the 3-5 yr gymnastics class to a urban ninja class and seems to be enjoying that more. He continues to do well academically but struggles with the social dynamics of being a leader and sometimes falls into bad behaviors with the other kids in his class.
Lydia is learning to be more respectful at school. She has been doing a lot better at using her words and waiting her turn for things. Sheโs also learning some new skills: using a hole punch, scissors, putting sounds together to make words.
Alicia had an average month at work. Nothing super exciting, but remaining engaged in projects and tasks. Sheโs pushing into the final month of AWANA and trying to make sure things get closed properly at the end of the club year. Alicia had the 20-week ultrasound at the end of the month. Baby appears to be growing healthy and looks like God is gifting us with another girl.
Tim also had an average month at work. Heโs been working on 3 โ 4 projects. Heโs also discussing with his manager his career path and will be taking on a mentor role that could lead into a management position in the future. Timโs been tending the garden at home and weโve harvested lettuce and a handful of strawberries so far.
In May we will be celebrating Timโs 40th birthday! We continue to be involved with our church small group and are making more connections. We continue to pray for Godโs guidance in our family.
