June 2021

June turned out to be an eventful month. We welcomed our new Au Pair in early June. The kids finished the school year. Lydia had her โ€œcamp grandmaโ€ week. Cordelia and Anthony finished the month with a Lego summer camp.

Cordelia lost another tooth this month! Sheโ€™s up to five now. Cordelia had a great end to the school year. At the end of year ceremony she was awarded the โ€œLove of Learningโ€ trophy for all of elementary! She also brought home her classโ€™ pet fish to take care of for the summer. Corrie has been a big helper around the house, looking after her siblings during the Au Pair transition. While she still working on the balance between smothering and mothering, her heart to love her family is evident. She continues to enjoy her gymnastics and swimming. We also started Cordelia in formal piano lessons with her music enrichment teacher from school. Her interest in practicing the piano as certainly picked up since she started

Anthony recovered a bit from his bumpy month of May and finished off the school year on a more positive note. Heโ€™s very interested in doing โ€œboyโ€ and โ€œmanโ€ stuff. Tim has been involving Anthony in as much of the wood working activities as is safe and theyโ€™ve been having some good bonding time. He seems to continue enjoying his new ninja gymnastics class and Alicia was very impressed by how he tackled some challenging obstacle courses.  We also started Anthony with formal piano lessons and heโ€™s starting with some basic 2 or 3 note songs.

Lydia really enjoyed her year of pre-primary and we are so proud and impressed at how well she did in a full day school environment. Even at home she loves to do different โ€œworksโ€. Lydia got to go to her first zoo camp with Grandma Powers this month!

Alicia had the opportunity this month to work with the PE group part time (about 10%) and learning some of the program operations side of things. She is continuing to pursue this path and was actually requested to apply for a position within one of the PE sub-groups. While nothing is finalized, it appears that Aliciaโ€™s career may be taking a turn towards project engineering. Alicia continues to be healthy through this pregnancy and the baby appears to be healthy too.

Tim had a bumpy month at work. Some of his projects got stopped so his work is getting a bit slow. He got in communication with a different company about potential job opportunities. At home Tim completed the built-in cabinet for our bedroom and it turned out beautiful! Weโ€™ve been enjoying some harvest from the raised bed fruits and vegetables.

In July we have some exciting activities lined up. Weโ€™ll be taking the kids for the first time to Disneyland! Lydia will be turning 3 years old! Anthony has a sports camp to try out some sports and weโ€™ll see what he likes. Cordelia will be having her โ€œCamp Grandmaโ€ week too.

With potential job changes on the horizon, weโ€™re praying for guidance and wisdom on Godโ€™s path forward for us. We also have been going to church in person, which is nice, and weโ€™re praying to keep making good connections with people there.
