Another month had flown by and February is almost upon us. We are settling back down after all the traveling and other events. At the beginning of January we received a visit from Alicia’s cousin Andrew and his family. His daughter thought Cordelia was the greatest thing and really enjoyed playing with her. After their departure Papa arrived to help us redo our downstairs flooring. We took out all the carpet and laid down fake wood. It looks great and really helps the downstairs feel more open. We are very thankful for Dad Russin making the trip out to help us. He also brought Tim’s brother’s dog who is now rehomed with us. She is a good dog who enjoys laying around most of the time. She is much bigger than Helena so Corrie is a little intimidated by her size. But the dog is very good to Corrie and has no problems with being pulled or poked.
With the floor remodel things were a bit chaotic for a week or two. Cordelia did a good job dealing with the mess and changes. Things are mostly back in place now but we still have a few things to finish up. Tim’s work has been busy with time critical tests to perform. But Tim has handled the needs well and is getting the tasks accomplished. One of his co-workers recently announced she is leaving the company so Tim will be taking over her tasks and transferring some of his current tasks to others.
Alicia is back at the MOPS group and other studies. The MOPS group is increasing the number of meetings, which is a nice improvement. Alicia has also gotten together with one of the MOPS mothers outside of the group. In the coming moth Alicia is planning on joining another moms group and trying to connect with more moms.
Be sure to check out the new videos of Corrie. Cordelia is really starting to move around this month. She is eager to walk and has been practicing using her toy walkers and going short distances between Daddy and Mommy. Corrie has also learned how to catch a ball. It is exciting to see her development and also rewarding to have her interacting more and more. She continues to eat well, although her appetite has slowed down over the past few weeks. She does good being watched by others while Alicia is at her different groups. But she is attached to Mom and when Alicia comes to pick her up she is very clingy and likes to be held.
Please be praying that God will bring us other couples with young kids whom we can visit with and connect. Also pray that we will find some regular baby sitters so that Tim and Alicia can go out on some date days/nights. We are very thankful for God’s provision. We have been enjoying more family time this month and are making a determined effort to go on family walks 3-4 times a week. We are very thankful for our little girl and are excited to see her continue to grow.
