March 2016

This has been quite a month! We started off the month by moving and finished the month celebrating Cordelia’s 2nd birthday. In between we had lots of excitement. We got moved into our new house in Milpitas and got things unpacked and in place. We went back to some of our favorite places: Happy Hollow and Stuft Pizza. We went back to our church and are starting to reconnect with old acquaintances. We celebrated Cordelia’s birthday with Grandparents Powers, Aunt Kelly, Alicia’s cousin Sarah, and our family friends Heidi, Gary, and their girls. Aunt Kelly spent her spring break week with us and Cordelia had a great time playing with her.

Cordelia is doing well adjusting to the new house. Since we are going back to a lot of the same places, it seems to be helping her with the transition. She is doing great with Anthony and is very loving and caring. We are still working on helping her with her emotions and dealing with not getting everything she wants. Her vocabulary continues to increase and she is starting to use two to three words together. She had a great birthday, feeding animals and riding rides at Happy Hollow.

Anthony continues to grow and develop. He had his 2 month appointment and is healthy and growing strong. He has great tummy time and moves his arms and legs all over the place during his play time. He can be quite talkative too, which is cute. He generally has lots of smiles and little crying. We are blessed to have a mellow and happy little guy. His night time sleep is fairly good, although Alicia always wishes it would be longer.

Tim is back at his old job, KLA-Tencor. He jumped right back into things, leading a high-profile critical issue his 2nd week back on the job. The general response to his return has been positive and people are happy to have him back. Our new location is great for him to bike to work again and he has also been enjoying playing sand volleyball during lunch breaks some days. Life at home had been focused on getting the house in order and having family time. Tim also went back to the men’s breakfast church group he was a part of. Unfortunately the main guys he connected with have left, so he will have to start over forming some friendships there.

Alicia has been experiencing motherhood with 2 kids solo for the first time since Anthony was born. Each day varies, some better than others. Overall Alicia has been making an effort to get out of the house each day while balancing nap time and feeding time. She was able to go back to the moms’ group and reconnect with one of the moms she used to hang out with. Alicia is also planning on going back to the MOPS group she was a part of last spring before the move to Napa. While it is a challenge balancing kids and house work and getting dinner on the table on time, she is starting to get a routine that makes things generally go smoothly and most of the time everything gets done.

Please continue to pray for our transition, specifically connecting with more couples. The couples that we were connected with before have moved away so we need to form new relationships. Pray that we will have wisdom and patience with the kids, especially Cordelia as she is in this “2 yr old phase.” We are thankful that things have come together so quickly with Tim getting a job and him getting right back into things there. We are thankful for God’s provision during this time. We are grateful for our family.
