March 2025

March has turned from winter to spring. We have had more rainy days this month and flowers are blooming. This month we had mostly a normal routine with some bonus activities. Cordelia and Anthony participated in the AWANA bible quiz and games. We celebrated Cordeliaโ€™s birthday at the end of the month with lots of little parties. We enjoyed a weekend visit from Mimi and Papa to finish the month.

Cordelia is 11 yrs old now! She had a good month as school. She class is starting to prepare for their end of year presentations on a state they have selected. Cordelia is doing the state of Maine. She finished her math homework book and spelling/definitions book. So now sheโ€™s moved onto the next level. Cordelia is improving in her piano and playing some very nice songs. Cordelia finished the synchro skating season with a showcase for the opening ceremony for the rinkโ€™s March competition. Cordelia also participated in the solo performance at Aspire 2 level. It was a big jump up from her previous level so it will take some time for her to adjust to the competition level. Cordelia celebrated her birthday with Grandparents, Aunt Kelly and Uncle James. She also celebrated with her ice skating friends at the rink. And then Mimi and Papa came to celebrate with her too. She felt very loved with all the friends and gifts.

Anthony is having a fun time at school as well. Heโ€™s working hard on his homework and doing well with his works. Anthony is preparing his state report on Alaska. Anthony is also progressing well in his piano skills. He started playing Fรผr Elise this month. In soccer he is working hard and enjoying it still. His team struggles to have consistency during their games, so they are in 4th out of 6 teams in the league. When they play well they are amazing, but it comes in spurts.

Lydia enjoys her friends at school and does well on her works. Most of the time sheโ€™s working well on her homework. Her state report is on Arizona. She hasnโ€™t stated working on it as much as the older two. Lydia enjoys her tumble class and getting to have more friend time. Lydia is also working hard in swimming. She leveled up to level 10 and is now working on streamlines and flip turns. She now has successfully learned all 4 strokes. Sheโ€™s gaining strength and coordination from her tumbling and swimming. Sheโ€™s also continuing through her piano books.

Natalie is working hard at school. Sheโ€™s learned all her letters and is starting to work on small words to continue reinforcing the sounds. Sheโ€™s also working on the number beads and putting meaningful quantities with the numbers. She has some nice friends in her class. Natalieโ€™s soccer class started a new session in March. Sheโ€™s continuing to have fun kicking the balls and making goals. She is continuing to progress in swimming. She leveled up to level 7 at the beginning of the month and has been learning breast stroke the last few weeks. Itโ€™s a really new movement, so it will take her a while to get the motion down.

Alicia is staying busy. Work was very busy during March as she tried to maintain her own tasks and take on more from her co-worker. Fortunately her boss took some of the workload away, so now sheโ€™s been able to work on her official tasks a bit more. The kids have been keeping Alicia busy as well with activities Cordeliaโ€™s skate schedule shifted days this month, which resulted in some routine changes being made. Alicia is also planning the kids summer camp activities. Awana was on maintenance this month but April and May will pick up as we prepare for the end of year events.

Tim continues to feel the stress and pressure at work. Heโ€™s in high demand and being pulled in lots of directions. He took a three day trip to Julian in the middle of the month to support a project. Things donโ€™t seem to be settling down soon and April is likely to remain high stress. At home, itโ€™s spring and things are starting to sprout. The flowers and weeds alike are coming to life. Timโ€™s been spending time sorting out the needs of our newly purchased trailer. Weโ€™ve made some purchases in order to get road worthy and living ready for our summer trip to Sequoia. Tim has been keeping up with the Sparks lessons and navigating getting Anthony to and from his soccer games on Sunday nights around AWANA time.

In April Tim and Alicia are looking forward to a long awaited week away for their anniversary trip (14 years!). The kids will be taking their spring break with Grandma and Grandpa. We also got good news about our bathroom permit being close to approved. So we may be looking at getting bathroom remodeling underway in the near future.
