May 2026

June has arrived and the school year has come to a close. We had a fun month of May, finishing the school year strong and getting ready to transition into our summer activities.

Cordeliaโ€™s band went to Knottโ€™s Berry Farm for a competition and also had their end of the year concert. She has made a lot of growth this school year. She applied and was invited to join the Student Ambassador Leadership Team (SALT) for next school year. Thereโ€™s lots of end of the year excitement.

Anthony is having a fun time on his new soccer team. Theyโ€™re getting ready for their first tournament in June. Anthony also finished the school year strong. His class did a American Revolution โ€œliving museumโ€ and he was Paul Revere.

Lydia finished Sparks and earned the โ€œSword of the Spiritโ€ award for the most handbooks and extra credits completed during her time in Sparks. She exited to be moving up to T&T next year in AWANA. She had a fun last month of school and has made so many friends.

Natalie made some big transitions in reading this month. Sheโ€™s finally getting the concept that she can put words together to read a whole story. Sheโ€™s excited to get back to โ€œMs Annaโ€™s classโ€ and keep learning. Sheโ€™s also continuing in her soccer and swimming

Aliciaโ€™s work is always busy. Sheโ€™s continuing to work through some obstacles and prioritize as best as possible. With the transition to summer schedules, sheโ€™s planning for getting her hours back to full time. The AWANA club year finished off great and it continues to be a blessing to serve with so many amazing and caring people. She enjoyed a very nice Mothersโ€™ Day being celebrated and pampered. We took a family hike and decided it was so fun, we did another one the following Sunday too. Sheโ€™s looking forward to summer with a bit more simplistic schedule and not as many demands to make sure homework is done. Hopefully things will be calmer.

Tim had a roller-coaster work month. He was suddenly called on to support another program at the beginning of the month. After that settled, he finally was able to get back to his main program and get some long-awaited items completed. At home heโ€™s been doing some gardening and installed the doors on the upstairs linen cabinet. We decided to rearrange the kidsโ€™ rooms one weekend, so that was a lot of work. But it was a good opportunity to clean up. Unfortunately, he also came down with a bad cold, so heโ€™s been struggling to get back to 100%. Heโ€™s also trying to get the trailer in order so we can have a nice setup for camping when we go to Anthonyโ€™s soccer tournament.

Weโ€™re looking forward to all the fun of June with lots of summer activities.
